Know Your Ballot - Finding Information
The LWV is committed to helping community members have access to information they need to be an educated voter. From hosting Meet the Candidate forums, to our printed and online Voter Guides, and the links below, we work hard at a local, state, and national level to be a resource for our neighbors. Please note: when it comes to candidate responses to our guides, we do not change nor edit what they provide.

Join LWV Ohio for a Panel Discussion on Issue 1 Misinformation - September 30th at 10:30 am
September 30th
10:30 AM Registration Required |
Reproductive health is on the ballot this year in Ohio, and we want to help voters make a decision informed by their values and the facts, not by political spin.
We know voters have questions– good ones!– so we invited experts in public health and constitutional law to get real answers. Moderated by Jen Miller, the League's Executive Director, experts Maria Gallo, PhD, and Jonathan Entin, JD, will help us break down some of the most common areas of misinformation around Issue 1. Dr. Maria Gallo is a sexual and reproductive health epidemiologist, professor of epidemiology, and associate dean of research at the OSU College of Public Health. Jonathan Entin is a professor of constitutional law, civil rights, and public policy, and is the David L. Brennan Professor Emeritus of Law at Case Western University's School of Law. |
We are all equal at the ballot box,
|
We envision a democracy where every person has
the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the
confidence to participate.
We believe in the power of women to create a
more perfect democracy. The League is proud to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of democracy, but always working on vital issues of concern to members and the public. |
Observer CorpsLWV-NPC members observe area government meetings for content and adherence to open meeting laws. Those reports are now available for public view.

LWV Northern Portage County
As a subset of the National League and the Ohio League, the Northern Portage County League of Women Voters advocates within the communities of Aurora, Freedom, Garrettsville, Hiram, Mantua, Nelson and Shalersville.
Each local League develops and comes to a consensus on positions within its community with which it takes action. The action taken may be in several forms, including letter writing, testifying at pubic hearings, serving on committees and/or commissions, and lobbying at local, state, or national levels for legislation. |
