CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 P.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & ROLL CALL - All present 

ROTARY STUDENTS
OF THE MONTH: Jordan Slaw & Brady Schambach of AHS 


HEARING
OF PUBLIC: Ethan Bradley, a 4th grader, wanted time off from school on a day in 2024 when t
here will be a solar eclipse. Julia Zayas (Harmon) wanted a girl's wrestling team at AHS 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Unanimous for special meeting of 3/6/23 & regular meeting of 3/20/23 

SUPERINTENDENT'S
/ASSIST. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORTS: AHS received Purple Star Award for support 
of US military (veterans' luncheon & connections to military families). He listed 8 end-of-year events for seniors, including prom & having seniors, in caps & gowns, walk through the halls of Aurora schools 

There
will potentially be a Construction Open House in the fall & on 5/2, 5/17, 5/25 for the communi
ty from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will include the cost of doing nothing.

The Assist. Superintendent 
reported that this is a very busy month for testing, including those for the gifted, those required by the state for graduation & for college credit. Grades 3-8 will have tests in English/LA & Math. Grades 5 &  8 will have them in Science, as well. There will be morning & afternoon testing for a 2-week period  at AHS (some of 23 tests for 850 students). 

TREASURER'S REPORT: He said tax receipts were 8% greater than projected ($864,000 received in property taxes & $160,000 greater than projected in delinquent taxes - $442,000 favorable variance).  Summit Co. taxes will be received next month. The chairwoman said she wants to schedule a session 1soon to discuss finances. Resolutions to approve financial statements & reports, to accept "perfect" 
audit report and to approve five year forecast were unanimously approved. 

NEW BUSINESS: Resolution to accept gifts & contributions (5 for baseball, 1 for boys' soccer, 1 for  changes in the Senior Room, 2 for girls' soccer & a donation of 4 table skirts for AHS) was passed unanimously. 14 resolutions to approve staff resignations and/or recommendations were approved together. Resolutions to Approve Staff Appreciation Week (5/8), to Approve Service Agreement with the Educational Service Center, & to Approve the Graduating Class of 2023 were unanimously approved. 

DISCUSSION ITEMS: The New Policy for Dyslexia Intervention & Support and The Revised Policy Emergency Management & Safety Plans were passed unanimously.
