Aurora City council & COW- 5/9/22

Aurora, Ohio, City Council & Committee of the Whole - May 9, 2022
Committee of the Whole:
Observer Report: The meeting was called to order at 6:45 pm by R. Barner with all council members present except for J.Kudley. There were 7 City Officials and Employees present and 4 people in the gallery.

​There were 4 Ordinances proposed for action that evening including: Amending Income Level Exemptions; Selling City owned property on Page Road; Development agreement with Pulte Homes for Renaissance Park Phase 1B; Employees Generally for an interim finance director. One Ordinance for a CRA #1 Tax Abatement for Automation Plastics Corp is on 1st Reading.

​The meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm.


City Council:

G. Horvat called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with all Council members present except

J. Kudley.

The Mayor made a presentation to the Positive Protons- a robotic team from Leighton

School who were champions in Ohio.

There was an Executive Session for 23 minutes to 
discuss imminent litigation.

The Mayor reported on upcoming City events and others she had 
attended.

Ordinances dealing with approval of the Renaissance Park final plat and adopting 
revised Ward boundaries were adopted on 3rd Reading. The 11 proposed Ordinances amending Aurora’s Codified Ordinances were postponed and a Public Hearing was scheduled for May 23.

Specialty Insurance Co Policy was renewed with rules suspended.

The Tax Budget went to 3rd 
Reading.

An Ordinance for a seasonal employee was adopted on 2nd 
reading with rules suspended.

The Mayor’s appointment of Interim Finance Director was confirmed on 1st 
reading with rules suspended.

An application to rezone acreage from R-4 Residential to I-1 
Manufacturing, etc went to 2nd 
reading with a Public Hearing set for June 13.

The CRA tax 
abatement went to 2nd reading.

The 4 Ordinances proposed at COW were adopted with rules 
suspended.

There were no citizens comments.

Councilman French said the AV system was 6 
weeks out.

J. Kudley talked about the Train Station Historic Marker dedication.

The meeting 
adjourned at 8:05 pm.
